Gerber has also succeeded in introducing the new rules of DC's magical realm far more effectively than any other writer thus far, and although we as readers share the main character's bewildered reaction to this strange new world, it's that startling unfamiliarity with these fantastic elements that makes these stories so fun. The result is a richly complex new character that's an absolute blast to follow from one crazy adventure to the next.
